Download OpenPath for WooCommerce 3.9.1
Version 3.9.1 adds comprehensive duplicate-transaction protection for payments and refunds. It also improves recovery when WooCommerce cannot determine whether OpenPath processed a request.
What changed
- Added stable checkout intents that remain connected across replacement WooCommerce orders, browser sessions, devices, classic checkout, and Cart and Checkout Blocks.
- Added an atomic checkout-intent claim to prevent concurrent requests from creating multiple OpenPath transactions.
- Added non-sensitive request fingerprints so an idempotency key cannot be reused for a different customer, amount, currency, or cart.
- Added authoritative order binding. A replayed approval completes only the originating order, links and cancels replacement orders, and never marks two orders paid with the same transaction.
- Added fail-closed handling for uncertain responses, including OpenPath response codes
400,420,421, and430, transport failures, empty or malformed responses, unknown codes, and approvals without a transaction ID. - Added automatic status reconciliation for uncertain payments. WooCommerce keeps the order on hold and blocks another processor attempt until OpenPath provides an authoritative result.
- Added idempotent refund requests and refund-status reconciliation to prevent repeated admin actions or lost responses from creating duplicate refunds.
- Corrected refund handling so declined or errored refunds return an error instead of being reported as successful.
- Added exactly-once local refund completion and stock-restoration safeguards.
- Added order notes and related-order links to improve fulfillment, accounting, and support visibility.
Operational requirements
- Verify payment approval, decline, uncertain-response reconciliation, replacement-order handling, partial refunds, full refunds, classic checkout, Blocks checkout, HPOS, saved cards, and subscriptions in a sandbox or production test site before rollout.
