Troubleshooting and limitations

Resolve missing paths, expired sessions, invalid connections and save problems.

I cannot see Path Designer in the menu

The beta must be enabled for your environment, and you must be signed in as an organization user with an organization selected. Check the organization first, then contact your administrator or OpenPath support about feature access. Availability can differ between test and production environments.

The warning appears again

That is expected during beta. Every visit requires a new acknowledgment. Check the box and click OK to proceed, or choose Not now to leave. There is no permanent dismissal option.

Accepting the warning shows a loading error

Your portal session may have expired while the warning was open. If Designer says Your session has expired, use Sign in again. It opens a separate tab and returns to Path Designer after sign-in. This keeps an existing editor tab from being silently replaced. Returning to Designer still requires the beta acknowledgment.

For a different temporary load failure, use Retry. If the problem continues, record the message, the organization, the time and the action you attempted for support. Do not include passwords, connector credentials, full payment details or authentication tokens in screenshots or tickets.

Sites or paths appear to be missing

  1. Open the site selector and choose Select all.
  2. Click Fit to bring the diagram into view.
  3. Check whether the node was dragged far from its initial row.
  4. Use Arrange if you want a fresh alignment of the displayed objects.
  5. Use Refresh to retrieve configuration created elsewhere.

All sites shows disconnected nodes as well as connected groups. A focused selection shows the selected sites' downstream flows, all available connectors and new staged nodes; unrelated routes and filters can be outside that view. An off-screen node is not necessarily deleted.

All connectors remain visible when I select one site

This is intentional. You can add another available connector to that flow without first switching to All sites. Showing a connector does not connect it or make it active.

The library does not list existing paths

The Site library contains creation tools. Existing paths are already represented by their nodes in the diagram. Choose the appropriate view and select a node to edit it.

A connection is rejected or Apply is disabled

Look for a self-connection, indirect loop, missing destination, incomplete rule or incomplete new node. Give routes a valid default, complete every rule and redundancy destination, and resolve concurrent-change prompts. Read the Review diagnostics for the specific object.

An inactive-path warning should prompt a configuration check; it does not mean Designer automatically activated the path. Some controls are also disabled while an apply request is running or its result is uncertain.

Changes did not disappear after Discard

Check how they were saved. Site and connector setup dialogs save immediately, and personal layout changes save automatically. Discard only discards the unapplied routing draft. See Reviewing and applying changes.

What this beta does not do

  • It does not show an animated transaction trace or execute a test payment from the canvas.
  • It does not provide saved routing drafts or collaborative editing sessions.
  • It does not create queues or generally delete existing resources.
  • It does not reorder route rules by dragging their nodes or arrows.
  • It does not make Undo a rollback for already-applied changes.
  • It does not guarantee connector availability, provider acceptance or a particular observed traffic split.

Use the existing portal settings and reporting tools for capabilities outside the Designer. Start with the Path Designer overview for the full guide.
